WHAT ARE THE PITFALLS
A simple checklist for a problem free purchase
DO:
· Use a good English speaking lawyer with established, registered offices.
· Use a reputable agent with proper, licensed premises open to the public.
DON'T:
· Buy the first thing you see - shop around first to get a good feel for the market and compare prices.
· Pay any deposit directly to a private vendor - it is ok to place a deposit in the client account of a reputable agent, legal firm or developer provided that the deposit is accompanied by appropriate written legal safeguards and terms and conditions of sale. If you pay any money directly to a private vendor and there is a dispute, it might prove very difficult to get the money back, even if the vendor is at fault.
